Spanish River Park
The locals love Spanish River Park for its variety of activities. Whether going for a weekend outing or a lunchtime picnic, the park is a comfortable place to spend a few hours. The area has grills, rest room facilities, and a playground.
The water on both sides Spanish River Park make it a unique place to visit. The park is named for the shallow freshwater stream that once flowed on the western edge of the park where the Army Corps of Engineers created a channel, joining the area with the rest of the Intracoastal Waterway. From the western side, visitors can walk through the long tunnel that goes under Route A1A to enjoy the ocean and beach on the east. Visitors come for swimming, fishing, nature walks, bird watching and picnicking.
