Shower and stretch
A morning shower can be the perfect way to start your day, leaving you feeling fresh, bright and invigorated. To add to the benefits enjoy a good stretch while your muscles are relaxed and warm. It feels great and helps shake off any tension.
Exercise
If you rise early enough to take some exercise in the morning, this may the only thing you wish to do before your shower. Working exercise into your routine this way can be a great habit to start and you may find that there are fewer distractions at this time. It will also speed up your metabolism, boost your energy levels and increase mental alertness. If you run or walk outside, it’s good to know that air pollution is at its lowest in the morning. If you have a dog, multitask by walking it at the same time.
Breakfast
Have a balanced and nutritious breakfast. Porridge oats make a fantastic, healthy breakfast and will provide you with slow-release energy throughout the morning. Settling for a coffee on the run is a big no-no! Green tea is an excellent low-caffeine alternative to coffee.
Soak up some rays
If possible sit in the sunshine whilst you eat breakfast. If it’s too cold to go outside, just sitting by the window will give you a good start, letting your body know that your day has well and truly begun.
Mood music
Play your favourite CD while you get dressed and prepare for the day, boosting positivity and energy levels. Music really can enhance your mood and leave you ready for whatever today may bring.
