Quit Smoking this year

Time after time we have tried to quit smoking, we have tried just about every stop smoking product out there and it just doesn’t work for you. I was like the many people out there that just can’t quit smoking to save my own life. Sure friends and family would offer words of encouragement but to no avail. It wasn’t until I was at a bar that it changed my outlook on trying to quit smoking.

Let me give you a little background on why I think I can’t quit smoking. For me smoking is a social event. I enjoy going out on my break from work and lighting up to hear the new gossip from the co-workers, or being at a party and talking to friends while smoking. It causes me a calming feeling while being around people. To tell you the truth, I’m not much of a people person unless I’m smoking with a group of people, talking about whatever. I also like that nicotine feeling; you know that feeling after you want to kill someone if you don’t get a cigarette soon!! I also think it’s that feeling I have between my fingers and I’m doing something to kill the time as well.

My Pledge: Quitting Smoking Before Coming into the New Year 2007

Everybody makes New Year resolutions because they would like to form things higher for themselves. But at intervals per week or two, motivation goes down and so the resolution finally ends up within the drain. Most of the resolutions which fail severely each year are the ones created for weight loss and quit smoking. After all, I’ve got been making an attempt to quit smoke from last three years. But until date has been unsuccessful in achieving it, in my eyes it is the toughest resolution, because inside every week, I begin feeling as if I can die without nicotine. For the smokers life becomes empty without the nicotine kick.

Me and my hubby are designing to possess a baby next year hence it’s important for me to quit smoking. It’s a heavy issue related with the health of my baby, and I cannot take any probabilities, so I’ve got determined not to create any quit smoking resolution this year, rather I need to step into the New Year after quitting smoke forever. What do you say?

Many who have quit smoking have found that they have put on a few pounds after that and they have trouble taking off this weight as well. What causes a person that quits smoking to have weight gain and how can you avoid it if at all?

The nerve shattering coughing that appears due to long term smoking should be a clear enough sign that you are heading for trouble. Coughing is a sure sign that all your years of abuse to your lungs are finally taking a toll on them.

The answer is of course very visible, the problem is that most people are concerned that they might have already done their lungs enough damage for the problem to be irreversible. This is quite a shame because even if you continue to cough, as long as you are able to prevent yourself from lighting a cigarette after every few hours, then there is hope and it’s still not too late to quit or detox your lungs.
